How the number is made (plain version)
Imagine two people counting birds in a garden. If they mostly saw the same birds, the garden has few birds they missed. If they mostly saw different birds, there are many more they both missed. The app does the same with your sources: devices seen by only one source versus devices seen by two. Experts: bias-corrected Chao1 with a 95% interval; a lower bound.
How to make it go down
Open the map and press "Ask someone to check" on a dashed circle, or let a technician report devices from a phone. When a person confirms a device that only one tool saw, the number drops. When they find a device nobody saw, you now know about it.
